Volunteer to be an SEO Tech Developer Industry Coach this Summer!
What is the SEO Tech Developer?
The SEO Tech Developer is an intensive immersion program for Black, Latinx and Native American rising college juniors majoring in computer science and computer engineering. The SEO Tech Developer will speed their development of the technical and soft skills required for entry-level tech roles at leading tech companies andstartups — with an emphasis on the application of programming tools in addressingreal world problems. Sixty-five (65) computer science and engineering majors havebeen selected for the pilot cohort of the SEO Tech Developer after a competitive application process. The admitted students attend 53 colleges and universities andhave an average GPA of 3.5.
Why become an SEO Tech Developer Coach?
Tech Developer coaches can have a tangible impact on motivated young people aspiring to break into the tech industry. These students have already taken the next steptowards leveling up their software engineering skills by being admitted to the SEO Tech Developer. However, to accelerate their growth they need an industry coach to help guide them on their journey.
What experience does a coach need?
An effective coach will have software engineering industry experience along with a desire to give back by providing guidance to motivated computer science and software engineering college students. Coaches should be open-minded and eager to offer advice and share their professional stories with their student team.
What should I expect if I am selected to become a coach?
Coaches will be assigned to work with 3-4 students. Coaches must be able to commit 2-4 hours per week for six weeks, from June 28th-August 6th. Coaches will meet individually with each student on weekly basis and will alsoconduct a short group meeting with their team weekly. Our instructional team will provide coaches with designated topics to cover each week to ensure optimal use oftime during weekly meetings.
